Will it be a case of he’s got a feeling, she’s got a can of mace for Ben Roethlisberger at the Super Bowl XLV?
The Pittsburgh quarterback’s path to redemption is one of the stories of Super Bowl XLV but one online sportsbook isn’t quite sure if Big Ben won’t try to start some drama with the Fergalicious lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas.
Ten will get you one hundred and fifty from Sports Interaction (http://www.sportsinteraction.com) if Roethlisberger escapes Mike Tomlin’s team talk and asks Fergie if, you know, she wants to hang out or see a movie during the Super Bowl half-time show.
The Super Bowl is the single biggest sports event of the year, and that level of excitement is matched in the sports betting world. The Big Ben and Fergie bet is just one of over three hundred bets that Sports Interaction are offering on the game between Pittsburgh and Green Bay, and any and all other events connected with the Super Bowl.
“Sports Interaction has been licensed in North America for fourteen years,” remarks Frank Doyle, a spokesman for the sportsbook, “and every year the Super Bowl has gotten bigger and bigger.
“We have three hundred Super Bowl bets on everything to do with the game, from fun bets like the color of the winning Gatorade shower to totals, player bets, team bets, statistical bets and more. And of course you can bet on who’ll win the game – Green Bay Packers is a -2.5 point favorite, even though Pittsburgh Steelers has won two of the last five straight up.”
But what about the Roethlisberger and Fergie bet? Does Doyle himself think it’ll happen?
“Clay Matthews is a much better bet to sack Roethlisberger than Miss Ferguson,” says Doyle. “The only consolation for Big Ben might be that Fergie and Matthews seem to visit the same hairdresser.”
